Microsoft Academic Search http://academic.research.microsoft.com/ tracks the number of citations in different fields for authors, conferences, journals, and organizations. In the field of Computer Science and Engineering, and the subfield of Hardware and Architecture, UCI is ranked 18th among all universities in the world (with 1753 publications) and 23rd among all organizations. That includes universities and companies such as IBM, Intel, Microsoft and others. Since almost all UCI faculty members in Hardware and Architecture are also members of CECS, this also demonstrates a great achievement for the Center. “This shows again that CECS is the leader in its field and I believe it would even rank higher if Microsoft was tracking Embedded and Cyber-Physical systems” says CECS Director Prof. Fadi Kurdahi. Four CECS faculty are among the top 100 in the world in this ranking.
