- semantic checking for certain expressions is incomplete withing the scrc;
  however, semantic errors not checked by scrc will be caught
  by the underlying C++ compiler being used;

- scrc does not support initializers for enumerator variables at the time
  of declaration (see BUGS); this needs to be fixed;

- extended simulator support for easier debugging
