Sunday, October 19, 2003: Grading of the hills has been completed. The new construction site is completely empty.
Tuesday, November 23, 2003: We climb over the fence the first time. Grading is completed, lots are still empty.
Saturday, January 24, 2004: We climb the dirt hill and get a greater view of the construction area from farther away.
Saturday, March 6, 2004: Sewage lines are put into to roads. Murasaki will be our new street address.
Sunday, April 4, 2004: The trenches for the foundation are being dug.
Sunday, April 18, 2004: The trenches for the concrete foundation are done.
Tuesday, May 4, 2004: The streets are being built. We are supposed to stay outside.
Sunday, May 9, 2004: The wood to contain the concrete has arrived.
Thursday, May 27, 2004: The wood has been assembled for the concrete to be. poured in. Some pipes have also been installed.
Saturday, June 12, 2004: The concrete slab has been poured in, the foundation is complete. The first wall even stands already!

Saturday, July 17, 2004: The floor of the second story has been nailed on. Some water pipes are extended to the upper floor.
Saturday, July 24, 2004: The studs for the second story walls are prepared. Trenches are dug to connect water and sewage lines.
Saturday, July 31, 2004: The second story wall structures are put up. The triangle structures for the roof are prepared.
Tuesday, August 3, 2004: The fencing behind the houses is moved down to make room for the street construction.
Saturday, August 7, 2004: The structures for the roof have been completed. "Richtfest"!
Saturday, August 28, 2004: We are back from our vacation, but are not allowed inside the fence. The wooden roof has been added.
Sunday, August 29, 2004: Today we are allowed to enter the fenced area and can check out our house from the inside.
Sunday, September 5, 2004: The roof on the front porch has been added. Gypsum plates for the walls are prepared.
Sunday, September 18, 2004: The windows have been inserted. Air conditioning pipes have been installed.
Sunday, September 25, 2004: Shingles have been prepared on the roof. A chimney also is being put on top.
Sunday, October 3, 2004: Installation inside is making progress. Electricity and the fireplace are being installed.
Sunday, October 17, 2004: The outside walls are prepared for plaster. The inside walls are stuffed with filling.
Saturday, October 23, 2004: The gypsum drywalls inside have been added. All rooms now have their final shape and size.
Saturday, October 30, 2004: The walls inside have been polished. Concrete is being applied on the outside.
Sunday, October 31, 2004: Our kids are having fun at the construction site.
Saturday, November 6, 2004: Plaster is being applied to the outside walls on our house.
Saturday, November 13, 2004: The outside plaster has dried, but needs painting.
Sunday, November 21, 2004: Our house has been painted! Inside, cabinets and the stair rails have been added.
Sunday, November 28, 2004: The shingles on the roof are finally distributed and put into place.
Sunday, December 5, 2004: The inner doors have been finished. Rain gutters are prepared outside.
Sunday, December 12, 2004: Electric outlets and light switches have been installed.
Sunday, December 19, 2004: The fire place has been installed. Tiles are installed in the baths.
Wednesday, December 29, 2004: Tile installation is finished. The master bath tub has been installed.
Sunday, January 16, 2005: Appliances and floors have been installed. The house is almost completed.
Friday, January 28, 2005: This is the day of the walk-through. Except for minor touch-ups, everything is done.
Sunday, January 30, 2005: We still need to wait for the final touch-ups and fixes to be completed.
Sunday, February 5, 2005: Another week of waiting has passed. We can't wait, we simply sneak in.
Thursday, February 10, 2005: The big day: close of escrow. The house is finally ours!
Thursday, February 17, 2005: We are preparing to move in, but rain has leaked into the house.
Monday, February 21, 2005: The water leak is being investigated. Our brand-new walls are opened again.
Thursday, February 24, 2005: Five holes are found in the walls. Fixing requires major work inside and outside.
Sunday, March 5, 2005: We have moved in, downstairs only, and enjoy the first days in our new house.
Tuesday, March 8, 2005: The wooden floor on the 2nd floor is being installed.
Friday, March 18, 2005: A flag stone patio and a retaining wall for plants are built in the back yard.
Friday, April 1, 2005: The flag stone patio and the retaining wall are completed.
Saturday, April 16, 2005: The sprinkler system is installed in a hurry, since we have our house warming party today!
Tuesday, April 19, 2005: The sprinkler system has been completed. The lawn grass is being planted.
Monday, June 6, 2005: We have found mold in our kitchen which needs to be properly removed.
Saturday, June 18, 2005: We build a sand-box for the kids in the back yard.
Saturday, July 30, 2005: The back yard is blooming. The house is finally complete!
