CECS Faculty Receive Research Seed Funding Awards

The UC Irvine Office of Research has announced the awardees of the Research Seed Funding Program and four CECS faculty are among the recipients. Prof. Mohammad Al Faruque was awarded for his proposal titled “Critical Infrastructure Forensics (CIF)”, Prof. Zoran Nenadic for his proposal titled “An Implantable Brain-computer Interface System For Restoring Lower Extremity Movement And Sensation After Neural Injuries”, Prof. Ahmed Eltawil for his proposal titled “Self-interference Cancellation In Full-duplex System”, and Prof. Jeffrey Krichmar for his proposal titled “A Nueromorphic Robot That Interacts With People Through Tactile Sensing And Bi-directional Learning”.

Assistant Project Scientist Position Available

The Center for Embedded Systems and Cyber-Physical Systems (CECS), jointly with the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences, anticipates the availability of an assistant project scientist position. Call for Applications – FADEx Cyber-Physical Systems

The Office for Science and Technology (OST) of the Embassy of France in the United States has opened the call for applications for the 2016 FADEx (French-American Doctoral Exchange) program focusing on Cyber-Physical Systems. US citizenship is not required, but French citizens enrolled in an American university are not eligible.

The FADEx program will take place in France from July 4 to July 8, 2016. Applications can be submitted until February 19, 2016.

Job Description: Creates emulation/Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) models from a Register Transfer Level (RTL) design using emulation/FPGA synthesis, partitioning and routing tools.
